Property Description

Port Watch is a contemporary, custom built 2story, three (3) bedroom, 2.5 bath vacation home, fully equipped with modern appliances, yet maintaining that cottage-by-the-sea feel through furnishings and décor. When combined with all the amenities, Port Watch offers a home-away-from-home atmosphere. Upon approach, regardless the season, the landscape is ever changing.

The front of the home maintains a native flora design, for which the Southern Oregon Coast is famous, while the spring and summer months provide an array of added colorful ornamental flare throughout the remainder of the property. The newly landscaped back patio area is especially delightful with its abundance of vibrant color. The upstairs has a bright, cheerful open floor plan, with the living, dining and kitchen areas harboring a semi-panoramic view of the city. Each bedroom is complete with fine linens, soothing color schemes and different views of Port Orford’s unique charm. The sofa opens into a double/full size bed where you can see the Port's beautiful lights at night, a very special treat due to Port Orford’s Dark Sky Ordinance. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, utensils, dinnerware and linens for your dining-in pleasure. A cozy gas fireplace is located in the southern part of the open living room, adding ambiance. Maybe even a touch of romance, especially during the winter months. There are puzzles to build and books to read, as well as Wi-Fi, Direct TV and Netflix.

If vacationing with children or grandchildren, the newly remodeled and spacious downstairs “Family Fun Zone,” offers a ping-pong table, comfortable indoor patio furniture, and plenty of room to enjoy reading, lounging or family game night with a half bathroom for your convenience. For daytime adventure, the South Coast Game Park is located approximately 19 miles north, and the Prehistoric Gardens approximately 13 miles south, both of which are bound to delight. Battle Rock Beach is only a short walking distance with chairs available for a fun day in the sun building sandcastles on the beach. Port Orford’s famous “Agate Beach” is just a short drive if agate hunting, beachcombing or both are your cup of tea. You could easily spend the day watching fishing boats being lifted from our unique port, one of only two dolly docks located in the United States. If in the mood to rest and relax, perhaps taking in the view of the Pacific Ocean from the porch off the side of the living room, while Seagulls fly overhead or the Grey Whales migrate, is just the ticket to help you recharge.

As Port Watch is centrally located, there are several places of interest and many within walking distance. Port Orford has several art galleries owned and operated by local artists who contribute their own sense of creativity and charm. We are also fortunate to have our very own Food Co-Operative and Saturday Farmer’s Market, both featuring locally grown produce, baked goods and a variety of artisan wears. Several eating establishments are located within the same area, offering their own specialty items, including homemade bread, muffins and delicious gourmet imported salami’s and cheeses.

Regardless of your reasons for visiting Port Orford, your stay at Port Watch will allow your body, mind and soul some much needed rest and relaxation.
